July 2012 – Wyandot County Office of Economic Development authorizes its Executive Director to implement the planning for a group that will help address the younger local talent gap in the county.
December 2012 – An initial kickoff meeting is held to present the idea of the Young Professionals to those interested. Roughly 90 individuals attend.
May 2014 – The Wyandot County Young Professionals becomes a legal 501(c)3 charitable entity.
July 2014 - WCYP holds the first Wyanstock, the Wyandot County Music Festival. The event becomes the group's primary annual fundraiser.
May 2017 - WCYP donates $5,000 and leads the effort to implement 'Community Opportunity'; a countywide system connecting local talent with local opportunities.
Less than 5 years ago this organization was started from scratch by a small group of individuals. Today, we run one of the largest annual events in the county, and have raised almost $50,000 in proceeds that have been used to enhance our community. We take pride in the fact we can be as informal of a club as you will find, while still staying on task and fulfilling our mission.
